
CEC Gyalson tours Rong region of Kungyam Constituency
Distributes electric induction stoves under Vibrant Village Programme
Leh: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson accompanied by Kungyam Councillor, Thinles Nurboo conducted a one-day tour of the Rong villages in the Kungyam constituency on Nov 13th to assess and review the progress of the developmental works and the implementation of various welfare schemes in the region.
CEC Tashi Gyalson visited the villages of Kairey, Kumdok, Teri Pho, Hemya, Kungyam, Tarchit Pho, Phulak, Tukla, and Liktse under the Kungyam constituency and held interactive sessions with the public to review and assess public grievances which need to be addressed at the earliest on a priority basis.
Regarding the persistent query on telecommunication connectivity, CEC Gyaslon assured that all all-necessary approvals for mobile towers are sanctioned and by next spring the region will have network connectivity devoid of any further delays.
Assessing the benefits of welfare schemes like PM Ujjwala Yojana, CEC Gyalson directed concerned departmental officers to explore the feasibility of providing cylinders to the beneficiaries at the assured subsidized rates at their doorstep inclusive of out-of-pocket expenses on carriage cost of the cylinders.
He also urged the members of the Village Education Committee (VEC) in all the villages to hold meetings with the school authorities to deliberate on the needs of the schools such as infrastructural development like additional classrooms, repairs, renovations, compound walling, leveling of grounds, upgradation of schools, etc and to propose such plans for the next year CAPEX budget accordingly.
CEC Gyalson also informed about the stress laid down by the Hill Council in strengthening the social security welfare measure for the poor families in the far-flung areas.
Further, fulfilling the instructions made by the Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Giriraj Singh during his visit to Ladakh, CEC Gyalson distributed electric induction stoves to around 152 households in the villages of Hemya, Kungyam, and Tarchit Pho under Vibrant Village Programme, financed by the State Bank of India as a part of its CSR initiative. Assistant General Manager, SBI, Convenor UTLBC, Ladakh, Tsering Motup was also present during the distribution ceremony along with all the other dignitaries.
During his visit, CEC Gyalson also handed over a carpet weaving loom and other necessary equipment estimated around Rs 1 Lakh to the registered Self-Help Group under NRLM of Phulak village.
He directed Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Leh to ensure that required training is provided to the SHG members equipping them to efficiently use the loom to generate a steady source of livelihood.
Assessing the grievances raised by the villagers, CEC Gyalson instructed all the District Officers and Departmental HoDs to look into the matters and prepare necessary DPRs as per requirements related to roads, bridges, irrigation headworks, solarized water lifting, etc.
He also directed the concerned officers to ensure early resolution of issues related to land compensation, rectifications in JJM works, chain-link fencing to thwart wildlife attacks, adequate resources for livestock herders, the need for additional manpower in schools, medical centres, the need of RPP (Rehbar-e-PashuPalan) for livestock treatment among other issues.
