LEH: Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, in the presence of Executive Councillor Stanzin Chosphel, DC, CEO, LAHDC Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, Nominated Councillor Ven. Konchok Tsepel, visited Matho village to review the preparations underway for the upcoming visit of His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin Rinpoche in July 2025 and the Yerchos Chenmo scheduled to be held in 2026.

The visit was aimed at taking stock of the ongoing developmental works and ensuring that all necessary arrangements are progressing in a timely and coordinated manner.

During the visit, the CEC inspected Matho Gonpa and the newly constructed Matho Photang, where final construction and finishing works are currently in progress.

He reviewed the status of infrastructure and public amenities being developed in the area and directed all executing agencies to work in close coordination to complete the remaining tasks well ahead of time.

He stressed that the preparations must reflect the spiritual and cultural importance of the events and cater to the expected footfall of devotees and visitors.

Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel, on the occasion, extended heartfelt gratitude to the CEC for his unwavering support and commitment towards the development of Matho Photang and Gonpa.

He also shared tentative plans for next year’s Yerchos Chenmo and sought continued support from the Council to ensure that all arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the event.

The site visit was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Leh; Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Leh; Executive Engineer, Construction Division, Leh; Executive Engineer, Public Health and Engineering Division, Leh; Executive Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Leh; Executive Engineer, Electric Distribution Division, Leh; Executive Engineer, Mechanical Division, Leh; Executive Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing, Leh; Executive Engineer, PMGSY, Leh; and the Block Development Officer, Chuchot along with other officials.
