CEC Gyalson, CE BRO Brig. Karki discuss developmental projects
LEH: Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting Monday with the Chief Engineer, Project Himank, BRO, Brig. Gaurav S Karki (VSM) to discuss and review various developmental as well as public convenience cum utility projects in Leh.
MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi, and DC/CEO, LAHDC Leh, Shrikant Suse were present during the meeting.
Some of the key projects that were highlighted during the meeting include climate-friendly prefabricated houses, space heating innovations for defense personnel and labourers, and walkover projects in Leh town.
One of the key initiatives discussed during the meeting was the construction of foot-over bridges falling on the Leh-Manali national highway. C.E Himank presented their plans for the proposed foot-over bridges one at NH-3 opposite KV School, and another one, a circular walkway bridge at Singay Namgyal Chowk, Leh. The project is aimed at enhancing the safety of pedestrians and easing the flow of traffic in busy and bottleneck points of Leh town.
The project will also provide easier access to key facilities, such as schools and hospitals, offices, and improve the overall mobility of the people visiting Leh town.
Chief Engineer Brig. Gaurav also highlighted the innovations in space heating systems using environmentally sustainable technologies with innovative solutions to provide cost-effective and efficient space heating solutions that are tailored to the unique needs of the region, particularly during the harsh winter months.
