
CEC Feroz assesses present, future scenario of Model Schools of Shakar Chiktan
Kargil: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today chaired a meeting to assess the present and future scenario of Model Schools of Lamsu, Shakardo, Sanjak and Shangchay of Shakar Chiktan Zone here at Conference Hall, Council Secretariat.
Councilor Shakar, Zakir Hussain, SDM Shakar Chiktan, Muhammad Shareef Kakpori, Deputy Chief Education Officer Kargil, Muhammad Amin, Zonal Education Officer, Shakar Chiktan, Muhammad Ibrahim, Headmasters of the schools, management and VEC members were present during the meeting.
At the outset, the CEC Kargil congratulated Councilor Shakar Chiktan, SDM Shakar Chiktan, Deputy CEO Kargil, ZEO, Shakar Chiktan, Headmasters, management and VEC members for their hard work in uplifting the Model Schools in Shakar Chiktan Zone. He said the positive result is the outcome of the collaborative efforts of all the stakeholders.
Khan especially acknowledged efforts of the SDM for coming out of his comfort zone and working with other stakeholders for the upliftment of government schools in the area.
The CEC expressed gratitude over improvement in enrolment in govt. schools in the area. He said the result is the outcome of infrastructure development along efforts of highly qualified teachers which has played a pivotal role in increasing student enrolment.
He appreciated the active participation of management and the role of the Village Education Committee (VEC) in community mobilization and spreading awareness in the villages.
Khan informed the meeting that Rs 10 lakh were disbursed by Deputy Commissioner Kargil to SDM Shakar Chiktan for the development of Govt. Model Schools in the area.
The CEC informed that a separate head has been opened by LAHDC, Kargil in Council Budget last year for the development of Model Schools and Rs 2 cr has been kept for the same. This separate head is meant for the construction of separate toilets for boys and girls in the schools.
Khan also informed the meeting that the ZEOs have been empowered to adjust teachers within their respective Zones with respect to the student-teacher ratio.
He also informed that in order to make the transfer policy more transparent they are mulling to develop an online system where all the records of teachers will be kept in future.
In view of the positive performance of Govt. Model Schools in Shakar Chitan, the CEC assured that more schools will be opened in the same pattern in the future.
Councilor Shakar, Zakir Hussain thanked CEC Kargil for chairing the meeting and briefly highlighted the successful journey from the downfall of Govt. Model Schools in Shakar area for achieving the highest enrolment within the last two years. He also thanked LAHDC, Kargil and District Administration Kargil for their continuous support for the upliftment of education in the area.
Earlier, Teacher Yousouf Ahmed gave a detailed presentation on the journey of positive achievement of Govt. Model School Lamsu, Shakardo, Sanjak and Shangchay.
Later, Headmasters of the respective schools shared their grievances and suggestions which mainly include constriction of separate toilets for boys and girls, construction of additional classrooms, drinking water, basic laboratory equipment in Middle Schools, libraries, deployment of teachers especially Hindi, multipurpose smart screens, development of playfields etc.
The CEC gave a patient hearing to all projected grievances and assured early redressal of all the issues in due course of time.
