NUBRA: A solemn condolence ceremony was held at Village Phukpochey, Nubra, Leh, Ladakh (UT) to mark the 30th anniversary of the fateful day in 1995 when 13 BSF mountaineers laid down their lives while attempting to summit Saser Kangri peak. The ceremony was graced by Shri Moinuddin Siddiqui, Deputy Commandant, representing Frontier HQ BSF Kashmir. Col Mukesh Pandey, VSM, Base Commander, Siachen; Mr. Tashi, Tehsildar, Sumur, families of the fallen heroes; members of the civil administration; and the revered Lamas of Sumoor Monastery also paid homage. BSF distributed essential items and conducted a Medical camp among villagers in gratitude for their invaluable support during the rescue mission in 1995.
