Leh: In the backdrop of inconvenience being faced by tourists due to unavailability of accommodation, the administration of Ladakh has asked visitors to avoid plan of stay at Pangong without prior booking of accommodation.
“Instances of problems faced by tourists/visitors like not getting accommodation at places like Pangong etc. have come to our notice,” an official of the tourism department told Indus Dispatch.
He informed that the latest advisory has been issued to avoid inconvenience.

“Tourists/visitors are advised to not travel to high altitude areas such as Khardongla, Changla, Pangong Lake, Tsomoriri, Penzela etc. before 48 hours from the time of arrival at Leh,” the advisory further reads.
“To avoid inconvenience tourists are advised to book taxi in advance through registered travel agents operators,” the advisory reads.
The advisory further appealed to tourists to contribute in maintenance of cleanliness at all tourist spots and along all routes.
“Tourists are advised to respect nature, environment, local traditions and culture and follow all rules, regulations and advisories issued by the district administration (Leh & Kargil) and the tourism department, UT of Ladakh,” the advisory reads.
