Leh, September 15: Young learners at Govt. Middle School Phey got a hands-on taste of science as the STEM Lab Bus of DIET Leh visited the school, turning classrooms into spaces of curiosity, experimentation and discovery.
The initiative, conducted under the guidance of Principal DIET Leh Sonam Dorjey Namgail and Head of Science Department Tsering Yangdol, aimed to make Science and Mathematics more engaging through practical learning and interactive demonstrations.
Science Resource Persons Chetna Sharma, Kunzes Dolma and Rashida Parveen conducted activity-based sessions covering Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Students enthusiastically participated in experiments, raised questions and explored scientific concepts, developing logical reasoning, creativity, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
As part of its outreach programme, DIET Leh also gifted laboratory equipment to the school, further strengthening opportunities for practical science learning.
The Headmaster of Govt. Middle School Phey appreciated the initiative, saying such programmes help students move beyond textbook learning and understand concepts through meaningful experiences.
The Mobile STEM Lab is part of DIET Leh’s continued efforts to promote experiential and innovative learning across schools of Ladakh, while nurturing curiosity and lasting interest in Science and Technology among young learners.
