Zanskar, September 15: Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, along with DSHO Leh Dr. Tundup Namgyal, visited Zanskar and inaugurated the newly established office of the District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO), Zanskar.
During the visit, Dr. Iftikhar inspected the new office and reviewed ongoing livestock development programmes and departmental activities in the district. He also interacted with officers and staff and took feedback on field-level implementation.
Dr. Asif Hussain, DSHO Zanskar, briefed the Director about the functioning of the newly established office and various activities being undertaken in the district.
The Director also welcomed newly posted Livestock Development Officer Dr. Nasir Hussain to Zanskar and wished him success in his new assignment.
Emphasising stronger grassroots outreach, Dr. Iftikhar advised officials to remain in close contact with livestock owners and ensure timely veterinary and livestock services. He stressed proper implementation of departmental schemes so that their benefits reach beneficiaries at the grassroots level.
The Director appreciated the efforts of the officers and staff and directed them to continue working towards improving livestock services and the welfare of livestock owners across Zanskar.
