3rd Edition of Climate Cup concludes; LG Kavinder Gupta attends valedictory ceremony

Leh: The grand finale of the 3rd Climate Cup 2025 was played today at the Astro Turf Stadium, Spituk. The tournament was organised by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, and the Department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with the Ladakh Football Association, with sponsorship support from the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.

The final match between Sudeva FC and Rajasthan FC proved to be an intense and hard-fought contest. Both teams scored once during regulation time, ending the match in a 1–1 draw. The winner was decided through penalties, where Sudeva FC held their nerve to secure a 2–1 victory in the shootout.

With this result, Sudeva FC were crowned champions of the 3rd Climate Cup 2025, while Rajasthan FC finished as runners-up. The final witnessed a large turnout of spectators and showcased the growing standard of football in Ladakh.

Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Shri Kavinder Gupta, graced the final match of the 3rd Edition of the Climate Cup 2025, celebrating the spirit of sport and sustainability. On the occasion, he felicitated the winning team and outstanding players and also inaugurated the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE).

Also present were the Honourable Deputy CEC, LAHDC Leh, Shri Tsering Angchuk, Smt. Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, ADDC Leh, Shri Sonam Nurboo, Dr. S.D. Jamwal, IPS, Director General of Police, UT Ladakh, along with other senior officials, who joined the event and encouraged the participants.

The successful culmination of the 3rd Climate Cup 2025 highlights the Administration’s continued commitment to promoting sports, encouraging youth participation, and fostering a spirit of healthy competition across the Union Territory.
