Nyoma, 22nd of September,2025:
In collaboration with Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Nyoma, the 13 Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) organized a Community Awareness Programme on Disaster Management in two phases at Nyoma on September 22.
The first phase was conducted at the SDM Conference Hall, Nyoma, whereSDM Nyoma Kacho Asgar Ali along with all Heads of Departments and staff members of various departments of Nyoma Subdivision actively participated. The session focused on preparedness measures and the role of officials in effective disaster response and post-incident recovery planning.
The second phase was conducted in the Nyoma market area, specifically targeting shopkeepers and hotel owners. Practical demonstrations and awareness sessions were held to enhance community-level preparedness.
Key topics covered during the programme included:
• Earthquake safety measures and protective actions.
• Basic first aid techniques and CPR demonstration for cardiac emergencies.
• Safe handling of LPG cylinders and response to gas leakage/explosion incidents.
• Use of fire portable extinguishers and fire safety protocols.
• Immediate first aid response during accidents and emergencies.
The initiative aimed to build resilience among both officials and the local community, ensuring they are better prepared to handle disasters and emergencies effectively.
The programme received an encouraging response from the participants, who appreciated the hands-on training and pledged to spread awareness further within the community.
