Leh: This year might be 2022 for us but those living in the Kargiak, a remote Himalayan village of Zanskar in Ladakh it is still 1950s since they are struggling for basic amenities like fresh electricity but not anymore. This last village of Zanskar before the Shinkula Pass connecting Zanskar to Manali was solar electrified on Wednesday with each household powered with 1735VA capacity.
Untill now, the lives of the resident of this village was in dark with limited resources, medical support and education. But now with this electric supply, villagers can now run household appliances such as TV, washing machine etc. It was made possible by Global Himalayan Expedition.
