Kargil, October 02, 2025: The Rural Development Department (RDD), Kargil successfully organized a massive cleanliness drive on 1st and 2nd October 2025, covering all 98 Panchayats of 15 Blocks in the District. The campaign focused on areas that usually remain unclean and witnessed enthusiastic participation of villagers, Panchayat Secretaries, Block Development Officers, volunteers and frontline workers. Kargil, September 30, 2025: In a road checking drive held today around 9:30 AM near Iqbal Bridge, the Transport Department seized six stage carriage (public transport) buses under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. These vehicles were found plying in violation of route permits (Section 192A) and were also carrying school children, contravening the Hon’ble Supreme Court Guidelines on student safety.
