Leh, Feb 3:The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Leh has commenced the second batch of its Winter Training Programme aimed at strengthening English teaching skills and laboratory integration in schools across Ladakh.The five-day programme, being conducted from February 2 to 6, is organised under the aegis of the Education Department, UT Administration of Ladakh, in collaboration with Golden Mile Learning. The training is designed for Class VIII government school teachers from Leh–Chuchot, Khaltsi and Kharu educational zones, along with English teachers from private institutions. NEW DELHI: The Union government on Sunday earmarked ₹4,869.31 crore for the Union Territory of Ladakh in the Union Budget for 2026–27, reflecting a modest increase over the previous year’s allocation. In the 2025–26 Budget, Ladakh had received ₹4,692.15 crore. However, under the revised estimates for the same fiscal, the total allocation was significantly enhanced to ₹7,377.43 crore, including ₹5,029 crore for revenue expenditure and ₹2,347.43 crore for capital expenditure. As per the budget documents released on Sunday, the 2026–27 allocation comprises ₹2,542.26 crore for revenue expenditure and ₹2,327.05 crore for capital expenditure.
