Kargil: Amid heavy snowfall in Ladakh, District Police Kargil on Wednesday provided timely assistance to a pregnant woman from Tangole village, ensuring her safe transfer to hospital despite blocked roads.
The road stretch between Choskor Thang and Tringocha Tangol had remained closed due to snow accumulation, severely hampering vehicular movement. Following a distress call from the Lambardar of Tangole, a police team led by SHO Police Station Panikhar, Inspector Saleem Ahmed, rushed to the area and safely transported the woman to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Panikhar in an official police vehicle.
SSP Kargil, Shri Nitin Yadav (IPS), lauded the prompt and humane response of the police team and reiterated that District Police Kargil remains committed to public service during emergencies, particularly under harsh weather conditions.
The local public also appreciated the dedication and swift action of the Panikhar police team, describing the effort as a true reflection of people-friendly policing in challenging circumstances.
