Zanskar Valley, Oct 15 — As part of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar initiative and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Indian Army, in collaboration with medical experts, conducted health awareness seminars and medical screenings in the remote villages of Zanskar Valley. The programme aimed to empower women by promoting holistic health, motherhood, emotional wellness, and breast cancer awareness.
Medical staff engaged with community members through interactive sessions, addressing key health concerns and providing guidance on preventive care. The initiative was especially focused on reaching women in areas where access to medical facilities and awareness campaigns is limited.
Residents of the valley expressed heartfelt gratitude for the outreach, calling it an important step towards healthier and happier families. Officials noted that such programmes reflect the Army’s ongoing commitment to community welfare alongside its security responsibilities in Ladakh’s frontier regions.
