Leh: The University of Ladakh has announced a recruitment drive for the post of Registrar, inviting qualified candidates to apply for the key administrative position. The announcement, made through the university’s official social media handle and detailed in Advertisement Notice No. 08 of 2025, reflects the institution’s continued effort to strengthen its governance and administrative framework as it grows into a full-fledged regional university.


The online application process opens on October 21, 2025, and closes on November 20, 2025. The appointment will be on tenure or deputation basis for three years in the pay level-14 (₹1,44,200–₹2,18,200), with the tenure ending upon completion of term or attainment of 62 years of age, whichever comes earlier.
According to the notification, applicants must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55 percent marks and have 15 years’ experience as Assistant Professor or higher, including at least eight years in administrative or academic leadership roles. Equivalent experience in research establishments or higher educational administration will also be considered. Candidates with 15 years of administrative experience, including eight years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post, are likewise eligible.
Applications must be submitted online through the university’s official portal (uol.ac.in) along with a non-refundable fee of ₹1,000. The notification also specifies that government employees must apply through proper channel with vigilance clearance and No-Objection Certificate.
Signed by Nawang Tundup, in-charge Registrar, on October 16, 2025, the notice emphasises adherence to prescribed eligibility norms, warning that incomplete or false submissions will be rejected.
The recruitment comes at a time when Ladakh’s higher education ecosystem is expanding, with the University of Ladakh, Central University of Ladakh, and CIBS (Central Institute of Buddhist Studies) together shaping a growing academic landscape in the Union Territory.
