Leh: The Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, has expressed profound grief over the tragic incident on 24th September 2025, which claimed the lives of four young people and left several others injured.
Extending his deepest condolences to the bereaved families, Tashi Gyalson assured that all possible assistance and support will be provided to the families of the deceased and the injured. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those hurt in the violence.
The CEC described the incident as deeply unfortunate, noting that what began as a peaceful expression of democratic concerns unexpectedly escalated into violence. In response, he has called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh for a thorough investigation into the events of 24th September.
Addressing circulating rumours calling the incident a “Gen Z revolution,” Gyalson emphasized that such narratives are misleading. He stated that the youth of Ladakh have always been responsible, hardworking, and peace-loving, and must not be held accountable for the unfortunate developments.
In his appeal, the CEC urged young people and all stakeholders to remain calm, avoid being influenced by misleading information, and uphold peace and harmony in the region.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Gyalson highlighted that constitutional safeguards have been assured to protect the aspirations of Ladakh’s people.
He further stated that Ladakhi leaders have been invited for dialogue to address ongoing concerns.
