London: The International Council of Jurists has named His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai as recipients of the prestigious International Peace Prize.
The award will be conferred during the “International March for Nuclear Disarmament and a Peaceful World” on August 9 at Hyde Park, London, marking the 80th anniversary of the Nagasaki atomic bombing.
His Holiness is being honoured for his lifelong commitment to non-violence, peace, and compassion. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni is recognized for promoting interfaith dialogue and social reform, while Malala Yousafzai is celebrated for her fearless advocacy of education and human rights.
Dr. Adish C. Aggarwala, President of the Council, said the honorees “represent the best of humanity” at a time of rising global conflict. The event will also include a one-minute silence for the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
