Kargil: As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the Tourism Department Kargil, in collaboration with Downhill Kargil, organized a Tiranga cycle rally today to promote patriotism and national pride.
The rally was flagged off by Rakesh Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, in the presence of Muhammad Ali Tak, Assistant Director Tourism Kargil, and Imteyaz Ali, member of Downhill Kargil, at the Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC) Biamathang.
Around 30 cyclists from various parts of the district participated, cycling through routes including Biamathang, Kargil Market, Byepass Shilikchey, Kako Shilikchey, before concluding back at TFC.
The event fostered unity, patriotism, and community spirit by bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds. The rally encouraged citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes from August 13 to 15, celebrating India’s independence with pride.
Participants chanted slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Har Ghar Tiranga Ghar Ghar Tiranga,” and “Tiranga Hamari Shaan Hai Bharat Ki Pehchan Hai,” spreading awareness about the significance of the national flag.
This rally reiterated Kargil citizens’ commitment to independence, unity, and democracy while honoring the sacrifices of freedom fighters symbolized by the Tiranga.
