Leh: Territory of Ladakh has constituted a high-level committee to review the LAHDC Act, 1997 and address issues related to Nautor land and other land concerns in the region.
The committee will be chaired by Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS, Principal Secretary of UT Ladakh, and includes key officials such as Michael M. D’Souza, IAS, Administrative Secretary, GAD; Qureshi Tariq Mahmood, Special Secretary, Law & Justice Department; and Rigzin Spalgon, JKAS, Additional Secretary, GAD.
This committee has been tasked with submitting its report within four weeks and will work with the support of the Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners (Revenue) of Leh and Kargil.
The General Administration Department will act as the nodal department to service the committee.
The move is aimed at strengthening local governance through a possible revision of the LAHDC framework while addressing long-pending land-related issues in the interest of the people of Ladakh.
