Kargil: Police Station Kargil has worked out a shop theft case within approximately 10 hours of receiving information, recovering cash and other articles allegedly purchased with the stolen money.
According to a police press release, the case came to light after Mohd Ibrahim, a resident of Naqtoo Baroo, reported that some persons had entered his shop and decamped with cash amounting to Rs. 90,000.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the shop and surrounding areas, including possible exit routes, was examined. During the investigation, certain individuals were noticed in the footage and were subsequently identified in connection with the case.
The investigation led to the recovery of the alleged stolen cash, along with two mobile phones and other articles, including two smart watches, a pair of football shoes and a football jersey. Police said these items had been purchased from the alleged stolen amount.
It was further ascertained that the individuals identified in connection with the case are minors. Accordingly, further proceedings are being conducted in accordance with the applicable provisions of law.
Police said the case was worked out within approximately 10 hours of receipt of the information. The investigation remains under progress, and further action will be taken in accordance with law.
