Leh: In a historic move, LAHDC Leh/Kargil, UT Ladakh Administration and NHPC signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of pilot green hydrogen technologies in UT Ladakh today at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Tourism Club Building, Leh in the presence of chief guest, Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh, R K Mathur.
Congratulating all on the signing of the MoU, the Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson shared that the long-lasting and impactful MoU with NHPC on the development of green hydrogen technologies in Ladakh would go a long run in fulfilling the commitments of carbon neutral Ladakh as envisioned by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
CEC Gyalson added that the MoU would strengthen the relationship of LAHDC and UT Administration with NHPC and also appreciated the role played by NHPC through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the different sectors like health and education. He shared that the NHPC’s initiative made it a reality of having oxygen plants at the different sub-divisions of the district boosting the health infrastructure.
Lastly, CEC Gyalson expressed gratitude to the dynamic leadership of Lieutenant Governor, RK Mathur and the efforts of MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, UT Administration and NHPC for making the MoU a possibility for ensuring a sustainable Ladakh.
The event was also attended by the Chairman, LAHDC Kargil; MP Ladakh, Executive Councillors LAHDC Leh/Kargil; Secretary, Power Development Department, Ladakh; DC Leh/Kargil; Councillor, Khaltse Constituency; Chief Engineer, PDD; CEO, NHPC Renewable Energy Limited; SE PDD; Head of NHPC Project Ladakh and other concerned officers/officials of NHPC and PDD.
