Kargil, November 22, 2025: Administrative Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (RD&PR), UT Ladakh, Ms. Shashanka Ala, IAS, visited the newly constructed RDD Building Complex in Kargil today to assess its readiness and review the pending works. She was accompanied by Executive Engineer, CPWD, Abhishek Kumar Singh, and held discussions with engineers and the project contractor.
During the inspection, Ms. Ala noted that the building is nearly ready for use and emphasised the need for an early takeover. She reviewed the entry area, office rooms, and the 180-seater multipurpose hall, checking lighting arrangements and essential utilities.
She directed officials to ensure adequate facilities for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and instructed that the unfinished reception table be completed without delay.
The Secretary asked CPWD to complete the takeover process by next week and make the building fully functional by the end of this month. She added that the inauguration is tentatively scheduled around December 15, to be presided over by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
Ms. Ala also instructed the concerned departments to resolve minor pending issues—including fixing tiles at the main entrance and completing finishing work on the top floor and washrooms—on priority to ensure smooth administrative functioning once the complex becomes operational.
