Leh: Zonal Education Officer Drass Abdul Majeed Lone presided over the concluding function of the self defence camp for girl students of Government Middle Schools of Drass Zone.
The camp was organized by Ladakh Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Education Department Kargil under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and conducted by international player and coaches of Ladakh Taekwondo Association at 10 Different Clusters of Drass.
In his address Abdul Majeed Lone urged upon the girl students to pursue sports as a profession which he stated has a greater and better scope in future.
He also hailed Ladakh Taekwondo Association for conducting the self defence camp for all the government middle schools.
Mohammad Ali Baghi Casher Ladakh Taekwondo Association appreciated the vision of the Zonal Education Department Drass for conducting the Self Defence Camp by clubbing the schools under 10 different clusters and assured that if any student of these schools wants to participate in the upcoming district championship will be allowed to participate.
Meanwhile, Abdul Majeed Lone on behalf of Ladakh Taekwondo Association presented mementos to one of the outstanding student of each school.
He also presented a T Shirt as Souvenir to Famous Journalist from Drass Mohammad Salim Drass Online for his contribution in promotion of Drass at National Level media.
General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association Anayat Ali who also spoke on the occasion said that on behalf of the Ladakh Taekwondo Association he is thankful to Chief Education Officer Kargil, ZEO Drass and headmasters of the Middle Schools and coaches for their support and contribution in making the camp successful.
