New Delhi, September 18, 2026: Ladakh Tourism showcased its vision of transforming the Union Territory into a 365-day, high-altitude tourism destination at BRIDGES for Conscious Travel 2026, held from September 16–18 at The Imperial, New Delhi.
The ninth edition of BRIDGES brought together leading hoteliers, tour operators, travel designers, conservationists, policymakers, media professionals and tourism stakeholders, with discussions centred on responsible, sustainable and experience-led tourism.
Representing Ladakh Tourism, Director Tourism Tashi Dolma, JKAS, and Assistant Director Tourism, Leh, Fesal Iqbal Tantray, JKAS, held extensive interactions with travel industry leaders, destination curators and media representatives.
Ladakh’s Four-Season Tourism Push
During a dedicated destination presentation, Ladakh Tourism highlighted its expanding tourism portfolio across all four seasons, moving beyond the traditional summer travel window.
The presentation showcased opportunities in wildlife tourism, winter sports, adventure tourism, monastic and cultural festivals, endurance sports, community-based tourism, wellness and astro-tourism.
Emerging experiences including ice hockey, Frozen Pangong Lake Marathon, Ladakh Marathon, heritage trails, frontier tourism and high-altitude wildlife experiences were also highlighted.
Connectivity & AMS Concerns Addressed
Ladakh Tourism also sought to address concerns surrounding accessibility and high-altitude travel.
The department highlighted year-round air connectivity to Leh and multiple road corridors, including routes through Manali, Srinagar and Shinku La, besides the upcoming Zoji La Tunnel.
On Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), officials emphasised the importance of proper acclimatization, hydration and basic travel precautions, while highlighting the availability of medical and emergency support facilities across key tourism destinations.
International Travel Industry Shows Interest
A major highlight of Ladakh’s participation was the strong engagement from international travel media, destination storytellers and global travel influencers attending the event.
According to the Tourism Department, the curated gathering provided an opportunity to present Ladakh directly to high-value, experience-seeking travellers, premium tour operators, luxury travel designers and global tourism professionals.
Ladakh also received notable prominence in the conference programme, with two of the seven keynote and catalyst presentations dedicated to Ladakh and its emerging tourism opportunities.
Speaking at the event, Director Tourism Tashi Dolma said BRIDGES 2026 provided an important platform to communicate Ladakh’s vision of sustainable, inclusive and year-round tourism, driven by nature, culture, adventure, wellness and community experiences.
From Summer Hotspot to 365-Day Destination
With its expanding winter offerings, adventure experiences, cultural calendar and nature-based tourism, Ladakh Tourism is positioning the Union Territory as a four-season destination for conscious and experiential travellers.
