Kargil: Nawaz Ali from Trespone village of Kargil has topped the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 Ladakh list with a total score of 631 marks.

At least 704 aspirants from Ladakh had registered for the NEET 2022 out of which 639 had appeared for the exam and 331 have qualified the test. In comparison, 906 had registered, 744 had appeared for exam and 367 had qualified the test in 2021.

Nawaz Ali got his education from Mutahhary Public High School, Saliskote till Class 10th and passed Higher Secondary classes from Government Higher Secondary School, Trespone.

For NEET, he has pursued preparations from Dakshana foundation, an organisation that helps bright and impoverished students predominantly from rural India to prepare for IIT and medical entrance exams.

“At Dakshana I got the privilege to interact and get involved in group discussions with brilliant students from all over India that infused exposure and improved my knowledge”, said Nawaz Ali, while speaking to a local media house.

While speaking about his preparations during COVID-19 lockdown, Nawaz also appreciated the teaching faculty at Government Higher Secondary School, Trespone who “teaches much better than NEET level”. He attended school at GHSS Trespone during 11th standard but failed to join class in 12th due to COVID.

On asking to share his experience for other NEET aspirants, Nawaz Ali said that only good subject knowledge is not enough to crack exam but skills to face exam is necessary. “All students do hard work but only brilliant students do smart work”, said Nawaz.

“To control fear in exam hall, manage time during exam, to do away with stress, and other exam techniques matters a lot. One can get 600 marks with mere hard work but to get above 600 he/she need exam skills and techniques”, emphasised Nawaz.

The Chief Executive Councillor, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan extends congratulations to Nawaz Ali for scoring the top position in NEET 2022 from Ladakh.

“”Congrats to Nono Nawaz Ali from Trespone for topping the NEET exam  in UT Ladakh. Scoring, probably, the highest marks ever by a Ladakhi in the national level highly competitive exam, he proved that sincere & hard work is the only key to success. Best wishes!” he said.
