Kargil, November 7
: The 150th commemoration of India’s national song “Vande Mataram” was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC), Byamathang, Kargil, organized by the District Administration Kargil.
The event opened with a stirring rendition of “Vande Mataram” by the first-ever school band of Kargil, featuring students from PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School Minjee. Students, officials, and police personnel joined the celebration, adding to the patriotic atmosphere.
Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, attended as the Chief Guest, while Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Mohmad Hanifa Jan, was the Guest of Honour. Several senior officers, including the ADC Kargil and Director, Rural Development, were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Akhoon congratulated citizens across the nation on the milestone anniversary, calling “Vande Mataram” a timeless symbol of India’s unity in diversity. He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the national commemoration, ensuring participation from every corner of the country—including frontier regions like Kargil—in this celebration of patriotism and cultural pride.
