Leh: Executive Councillor, Tourism/Rural Development/ Panchayati Raj/ Handicrafts and Zanskar Affair, LAHDC Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi, today called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, at Raj Niwas, to raise several issues related to Zanskar subdivision.

EC Punchok Tashi raised the need for a proper bus stand at Padum under the Special Development Package, the need for creating the post of Executive Engineer R&B Division of PWD along with other staff for Zanskar sub-division, sanctioning of mobile towers for unconnected villages in Zanskar sub-division and intervention in making installed mobile towers at Zangla functional.

EC Punchok also raised other issues, including the disbursal of houses and land compensation to the beneficiaries for the construction of the National Highway 301 Kargil-Zanskar Road. He requested for intervention in the early completion of the 220 kV transmission line from Drass to Padum in the stipulated period and the extension of more triple polycarbonate greenhouses in the Zanskar sub-division under the Ladakh Greenhouse project.

Another delegation of women wings of different religious organisations led by President, LBA Women Wing, Yangchan Dolma, met LG Mathur and raised several issues for a peaceful Ladakhi society.
