Leh, November 06, 2025:
In a step towards transforming early education in Ladakh, an Introductory Training on the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) for students of the foundational stage, along with a session on Contextualization of Books for Foundational Classes, was held today at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh.
The programme aims to align classroom learning with the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on comprehensive assessment and locally relevant pedagogy for young learners.
The session was led by Mrs. Ranjana Sengupta, Secretary, and Mr. Sri Sarda Prasad Namhata from Nanritam, West Bengal, who guided participants from both Leh and Kargil districts through the structure, objectives, and practical applications of the Holistic Progress Card. They also emphasized the importance of contextualizing learning materials to better reflect the cultural and environmental realities of Ladakh.
Addressing the participants, the Director, School Education, UT of Ladakh, urged teachers and trainers to take full advantage of the workshop to ensure effective implementation of the new educational initiatives aimed at the holistic development of children.
Earlier, the Principal, DIET Leh, extended a warm welcome to the visiting resource persons, presenting them with the traditional white scarf (Khatak) as a token of respect and appreciation.
The training marked another milestone in Ladakh’s journey toward building an inclusive, child-centered, and locally grounded education system for its foundational learners.
