Leh: A day long conference on the topic of “Declaration of Indus River as a UNESCO World Heritage” commences in the conference hall of Grand Dragon Hotel in Leh.
The conference is being being organised by Ladakh Union Territory Administration and National Monuments Authority in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, GoI.

The Chief Executive Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Adv. Tashi Gyalson presided over the conference while Tarun Vijay, Chairman of National Monument Authority was the Guest of Honour. MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Secretary of Tourism Department of Ladakh UT administration K Mehboob Ali Khan and many scholars from Ladakh took part in the conference.

“Declaration in the UNESCO World Heritage would be a milestone step knowing the historical importance of river Indus. Due to the impact of climate change, it is our moral responsibility to keep #Indus neat and clean,” CEC Tashi Gyalson said during the conference.
