Leh : One-day seminar on ‘Export Enhancement and Awareness’ was organised in Leh by the Department of Industries and Commerce, UT Ladakh in collaboration with the Handloom Export Promotion Council for entrepreneurs and Self-help groups of Ladakh. Sonamarg : The work on the strategic Zojila Tunnel, which will provide all-weather connectivity between Ladakh region and the rest of the country, is nearing the halfway mark as the excavation for seven-km tunnel length has been completed, officials said here on Monday. “The works have been carried out on a war footing. We have completed 40-45 per cent of road works and tunnel works so far. Leh: Excise officers here have seized 2,163 bottles of liquor, most of which were smuggled into Leh from Chandigarh, a statement issued on Monday said. A huge quantity of liquor was stored in a house in Nimoo village of Leh district for local sale by the son of the house owner without any license, it said. Acting on inputs, the excise team headed by excise and taxation officer, Virindar Singh Pawar, searched the house on Sunday, the statement said. Leh : Lieutenant Governor R K Mathur said efforts would be made to develop a hand-holding system for the benefit of women self-help groups (SHG) in Ladakh. Interacting with villagers and SHG members in Shang, he also suggested that SHGs can diversify their product chain, open souvenir shops and showrooms, and put their products on display in homestays for tourists and trekkers for better income. Leh, March 28: As per the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services UT Ladakh, no new positive sample report of Covid-19 was reported.
