Leh, September 17, 2026: Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena handed over appointment letters to 396 newly selected candidates at a Rozgar Mela held at the CIBS Auditorium Hall, Choglamsar, Leh, on the occasion of Sewa Diwas.
The new recruits include lecturers selected through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and candidates recruited through examinations conducted by the Ladakh Subordinate Services Staff Selection Board (LSSSSB), Leh Autonomous Hill Development Subordinate Services Recruitment Board and LAHDC-Kargil Subordinate Service Recruitment Board (KSSRB).
Addressing the recruits, the Lieutenant Governor said an appointment letter represents years of hard work and also marks the beginning of a new responsibility to serve society. He stressed the importance of transparent, accountable and regular recruitment in government departments.
Saxena said the Ladakh Administration has notified or amended 27 Recruitment Rules since March 2026 to strengthen the framework for regular recruitment.
According to the Administration, more than 1,200 permanent appointment orders have been issued in Ladakh since March, while 1,361 candidates have been recommended for appointment through UPSC, LSSSSB and District Selection Boards. Recruitment to 1,507 posts is also in the pipeline for 2026.
The Lieutenant Governor further informed that 726 promotions have been made through Departmental Promotion Committees so far this year, providing career progression opportunities to existing government employees.
Saxena said the Administration’s objective extends beyond government recruitment to building a responsive, efficient and people-centric administration, while creating greater opportunities for the youth.
Congratulating the newly appointed employees, the Lieutenant Governor urged them to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication and commitment to public service and contribute to the development of Ladakh.
