Nyoma, May 05: Sending out a strong message on environmental conservation, Deputy Commissioner Changthang, Nitish Rajora (IAS), today spearheaded a plantation drive at the DC Office Nyoma under the inspiring theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.”
Organized in collaboration with the Department of Forest Ecology and Environment, the initiative aimed at boosting green cover while encouraging people to plant trees in honor of their mothers.
The drive witnessed active participation from Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nyoma, Kacho Asgar Ali, Range Officer Tsering Dadul, along with officials and staff members, who collectively contributed to the plantation efforts.
Highlighting the significance of the campaign, officials emphasized that the initiative is not just about planting trees but about instilling a sense of responsibility towards nature and future generations.
The programme also served as a call to action for the public to take part in environmental protection, reinforcing the message of building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Changthang.
