The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Leh today observed Constitution Day at the District Court Complex, bringing together judicial officers, legal professionals, and members of the legal aid network to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
The event was attended by Chief Judicial Magistrate Phuntsog Angmo, Bar Association Leh President Mohd Shafi Lasu, Assistant Public Prosecutors, bar members, Legal Aid Defence Counsel, panel lawyers, court staff, and Para Legal Volunteers.
The programme began with the reading of the Preamble by Chief Judicial Magistrate Phuntsog Angmo, who also addressed the gathering. She underscored the significance of Constitution Day and highlighted the Constitution as the foundational document that defines India’s political values, fundamental rights, procedural norms, directive principles, and the duties and responsibilities of both the government and its citizens.
The observance concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to constitutional values and the principles of justice, equality, and democracy.
