Joins Army officers, veterans, Veer Naris and motorcycle expedition participants in Ladakh
Leh: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena joined officers, veterans, Veer Naris, soldiers of the Indian Army and participants of an 11-day motorcycle expedition to commemorate 200 glorious years of the Regiment of Artillery, paying rich tributes to its distinguished legacy of service to the nation.
Highlighting the Regiment’s two centuries of contribution to India’s defence, the Lieutenant Governor said the Gunners have consistently exemplified precision, professionalism, resilience and unwavering commitment to the nation.
“For two centuries, the Gunners have embodied precision, professionalism, resilience and unwavering commitment to the Nation,” Saxena said.
The Lieutenant Governor also paid solemn tributes to the heroes of Operation Vijay, remembering the courage and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil conflict.
He said their unwavering courage and sacrifice continue to inspire the entire nation and remain an enduring symbol of the Indian Armed Forces’ valour and dedication.
Saxena also acknowledged the contribution and sacrifices of military families who have stood firmly behind soldiers through the most challenging circumstances.
“On behalf of the people of Ladakh, I extend deepest gratitude and heartfelt respect to every family that has stood steadfast behind a soldier, each representing an extraordinary story in India’s history of courage,” he said.
The participation of serving personnel, veterans, Veer Naris and members of the motorcycle expedition added special significance to the commemoration, celebrating both the 200-year legacy of the Regiment of Artillery and the sacrifices of India’s military heroes.
The Lieutenant Governor concluded his message with “Jai Hind!”
