Ladakh Smonlam Chenmo concluding ceremony: CEC Leh, EC, outgoing LGA Presidents felicitated

LEH: At the concluding ceremony of the 31st Ladakh Smonlam Chenmo held at the Dharma Centre, the Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson felicitated both the newly elected and outgoing Presidents of the Ladakh Gonpa Association (LGA), in recognition of their service to the monastic community and the preservation of Ladakh’s rich spiritual traditions.

The CEC Tashi Gyalson and EC Stanzin Chosphel offered a heartfelt felicitation to the newly elected President of the LGA, Ven. Dorje Stanzin of Hemis Gonpa, extending his best wishes for his term ahead and assuring him of the continued support of LAHDC Leh in furthering the association’s objectives.

They also extended a felicitation to the outgoing President, Ven. Tsering Angdus, for his dedicated service and pivotal role in strengthening the Gonpa Association over the years.

The event was graced by Executive Councillor, Stanzin Chosphel; His Eminence Urgyen Rinpoche; His Eminence Tsamtul Rinpoche; Ven. Tsultrim Stobdan; and Ven.Tsering Angdus, along with monks and devotees from across Ladakh.

The Ladakh Smonlam Chenmo is a five-day annual prayer congregation that draws together monks and nuns from all the monasteries.

Held with great reverence, it serves as a powerful spiritual gathering for the promotion of peace and compassion. During the closing ceremony, Ven. Tsering Angdus extended heartfelt gratitude to the CEC and LAHDC Leh for their unwavering support toward the development of the Dharma Centre.

He highlighted key infrastructure projects funded by the Hill Council, including the installation of CCTV surveillance and monastic security, construction of insulated toilet blocks and designated parking areas, provision of solar panels for clean energy, and the development of a newly constructed circumambulatory path for pilgrims and other infrastructure development.

The concluding session was marked by collective prayers, chants, and expressions of goodwill, bringing the 31st edition of the Ladakh Smonlam Chenmo to a serene and spiritually uplifting close.
