KHALTSE: Following the directions of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Khaltse, Mohd Sharief, a market checking squad conducted a surprise inspection of general stores, restaurants, hotels, vegetable vendors, and chicken sellers in the Khaltse market and its surrounding areas.
The inspection squad was led by Naib Tehsildar Khaltse, Asgar Ali, and included Tehsil Supply Officer, FCS & CA Department Khaltse, Afzal Khan; Tehsil Supply Officer, FCS & CA Department Skurbuchan, Mohd Mussa; Sub-Inspector Skarma Angchok from Police Station Khaltse; Health Inspector, Mohd Raza from the Health Department Khaltse; along with officials from the FCS & CA Department Khaltse and police personnel.
The squad inspected for the sale of expired products and seized several expired items. They also found the use of non-commercial LPG cylinders in some hotels and restaurants.
Additionally, the team checked rate lists, food quality standards, hygiene practices, and required documentation.
A total fine of Rs. 12,300 was imposed on defaulters during the inspection.
In a notable gesture, Naib Tehsildar Khaltse, Asgar Ali awarded Rs. 500 to hotelier Maya Sherpa for maintaining excellent cleanliness in the kitchen and living area of her hotel.
