Zanskar Winter Sports & Tourism Festival Day-2: Meditation, Yoga session held at Karsha

Kargil: On the second day of the Zanskar Winter Sports & Tourism Festival 2023-24, a meditation and yoga session was held on Thursday at Karsha Zanskar.

Er. Punchok Tashi, Executive Councilor for RD&PRD, FC&CA, ZDA, and Information, ALHDC, Kargil graced the event as the chief guest, while Romil Singh Donk, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Zanskar, was honoured as the guest of honour.

The annual festival has been organized by Youth Services and Sports, Cultural Academy and Tourism Departments of Kargil, Union Territory of Ladakh at Padum in Zanskar.

President all Gonpa Association, Sub Divisional Officers and hundreds of people gathered to witness the 2nd day of Zanskar Winter Sports & Tourism Festival.

Kachan Lobzang Choktak led the meditation session in which monks and students participated. Venerable Kachen highlighted the importance of meditation to purify the mind and body and also taught various tips and tricks for performing meditation and yoga.

Yoga Guru performed a yoga session, in which young students of Secpad and DPS including both boys and girls, monks and nuns participated.

The local artists beautifully presented a vibrant and lively folk cultural song and dance program, captivating the audience with their mesmerizing performance.

While addressing the gathering, EC Tashi congratulated the public of Karsha for almost completion of the New Photang, and sanctioning of Rs 2 crores by CEC Kargil.

He also assured the public for the completion of the Photang before the International Seminar 2024 which is scheduled to be held at Chamling Gonpa Karsha.

On the second consecutive days, an archery competition was also organized in which 44 teams all over the Zanskar region participated.
