Leh : World Sports Day has been enthusiastically celebrated jointly with Government Boys Higher Secondary School Leh, Government Girls Higher Secondary Leh, Government Higher Secondary School Housing Colony and Government High School Skalzangling Leh at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Leh. This occasion was graced by the Deputy Chief Executive Councilor Mr Tsering Angchuk LAHDC Leh while Mr Tsering Namgail Councillor Lower Leh (LAHDC Leh) and Mr Tsering Tashi District Youth Services and Sports Officer Leh witnessed the same day as Guest of Honor. HOIs, escort teachers and students of in and around Govt. School of Leh city have also participated.
The program begins with wel come speech by principal, GHSS boys Leh. Followed by Mr Tsering Namgail councillor lower Leh speech in which he stressed on more physical activities and outdoor games especially to boys students, as these days students are more engaging in mobiles. Later todays chief guest Mr Tsering Angchuk Deputy CEC advised the students to actively participate in sports and games for physically and mentally strong society. He also stressed on judicious use of mobile as in earlier times youth were more involved in out door activities.
The guest and audience also witnessed different sports skills presented by talented and sports loving students of various participating schools. They also witnessed vibrant traditional song and dance by students. The program was successfully closed with vote of thanks by school’s sports in-charge.
