Leh, October 30:
A two-day workshop on the World of Work was inaugurated at PM Shri Government High School, Chuchot Yokma, under the visionary leadership of Prof. Indrani Bhaduri, Head and CEO of PARAKH, NCERT.
The initiative marks a key step toward achieving the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by promoting skill development and vocational awareness among students of Grades 9 and 10 in PM Shri Schools across the country.
Organised by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, under the School Education Department, UT Ladakh, the workshop brought together 80 students from four PM Shri Schools — Government High Schools of Chuchot Yokma, Thiksey, Shey, and Chuchot Shamma.
The programme aims to introduce students to both traditional and emerging career paths, including 36 new-age job sectors identified by the Ministry of Skill Development, and to familiarize them with global trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) shaping the future of work.
Aligned with the Government of India’s vision to “Mend the Skill of India,” the workshop seeks to nurture informed, agile, and adaptable learners ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s workforce.
