World Glaucoma Week observed at Tangyse

Leh: World glaucoma week themed ‘The world is bright, save your sight’ was observed at Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centre, Tangste.

Opthalmology and Eye Assistant, Eshey Lamo gave a detailed presentation on awareness regarding the glaucoma disease, etiopathogenesis, its types, importance of early detection through screening, risk factors,  and available treatment. 

Demonstration of screening by Digital Tonometery was also given for screening.

Incharge BMO also spoke on the importance of early diagnosis by screening for glaucoma in people above 40 years and with risk factors. 

Also, instructed all the Health Care Workers to do screening for glaucoma and refer to Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centre, Tangtse.

The programme was attended by villagers,  Health Care Workers of AB-HWC PHC Tangtse & staff of HWC Tharuk, Shachukul,Durbuk Laga & Nimgo.
