SANKOO: World Environment Day was celebrated at Noon Public High ‘School Sankoo, Kargil on Wednesday.
Students and teachers participated in the celebrations and awareness rally under the theme ‘Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience’.
The students were holding posters with messages encouraging people to protect the environment and save trees.
Student addressed the gathering regarding World Environment Day and enlightened the gathering about the significance of this day.
They further said that it is a day for promoting worldwide awareness and action for the environment.
The day is celebrated annually on June 5 and people are encouraged to protection the environment.
