The first winter-season civilian passenger of this year from Nubra Valley was successfully operated today from Thoise to Chandigarh by an Indian Air Force aircraft. Around 50 civilian passengers were airlifted, marking the commencement of winter air connectivity for Nubra Valley, a facility that has been provided every winter for the past several decades.
This flight brings major relief to the people of Nubra, particularly patients, students, elderly citizens, pilgrimes and those affected by frequent road closures during harsh winter months. The continuation of this winter air service ensures essential connectivity when surface routes remain inaccessible.
The BJP District Office Nubra extends its heartfelt congratulations to the people of Nubra Valley and expresses sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the smooth operation of this service. We thank the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Former Member of Parliament Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Former CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson, UT Administration, Indian Air Force, Deputy Commissioner Leh, SDM Nubra, and all concerned officials.
Shri LP Namgail, President LBA Nubra, was also present at Thoise to assist and facilitate the first winter civilian flight.
This continued winter air service is a vital lifeline and a significant step towards public welfare and connectivity in Nubra Valley.
