Leh: The Chief Executive Councillor, Advocate Tashi Gyalson on Friday assured transport unions of Leh to take up the matter with the concerned authorities for necessary redressal.

As per the official handout, Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting with the representatives of Transport Unions of Leh to discuss the issues raised by the unions regarding the fixation of rates for commercial vehicles.
The meeting was also attended by RTO Ladakh, Tsering Paldan, and ARTO Leh, Inzar Rana.
The officials from the commercial transport unions apprised CEC Gyalson of a few of their concerns on the recently notified rate lists for the commercial passenger vehicles of Ladakh.
Threadbare discussions took place among the officials and further sought assistance from the concerned department to address the concerns raised during the meeting.
The representatives from the Transport Unions expressed their gratitude to the State Transport Authority, Transport Department Ladakh led by Secretary Transport and especially to RTO Ladakh as well as ARTO Leh for revising the rates. They also extended their gratitude to the Chairman, LAHDC Leh for listening to their grievances and assisting in addressing them.
The union members further sought assistance from the Transport Department, Ladakh, and the Hill Council, Leh to address a few minor concerns raised during the meeting, to which CEC Gyalson and RTO Ladakh assured to take up the matter with the concerned authorities for necessary redressal.
