Leh: The volleyball tournament organised by Zhunu Tsogspa Kharlatse concluded Friday at Khaltse.
A total of 8 men’s team and 4 women’s team participated in the tournament.
Councillor Khaltse, Lobzang Sherab was the chief guest whereas SDM Khaltse, Suhail Ahmad was the guest of honor.
Incharge Tehsildar Khaltse, Mohd Yousuf; Incharge SHO Khaltse, Ghulam Rasool; venerable monks; Nambardar Khaltse, Stanzin Phurboo were present as guests.
Councillor Khaltse appreciated the Zhunu Tsogspa Kharlatse for organising the tournament and assured full support in future.
Appreciating the players, he announced Rs. 1 lakh for Zhunu Tsogspa Kharlatse to continue the tournament.
He informed that cricket and football equipment have already been distributed to the youth of Khaltse village last year.
Nambardar Khaltse, Stanzin Phurboo also spoke at the event.
Later, the women’s final match was played between the Wanla v/s Tia team, in which the Wanla team defeated the Tia team.
The men’s final match was played between the Friends Khaltsi V/s Chiktan team, in which the Chiktan team defeated the Friends Khaltse.
A cultural programme was also showcased during the event.
At the end of the match, Councillor Khaltse, Lobzang Shrab distributed the prizes to the players.
