Kargil: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), aimed to attain saturation government schemes was organized Tuesday at Itchoo, Panchayat Bartoo in Barsoo Block despite the severe cold.
Despite being one of the remote hamlets in the Kargil district, Itchoo is situated in Barsoo Block, Panchayat Bartoo. The hamlet, comprising 33 households and around 231 residents, was the venue for hosting the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
Officials from various departments made their way to Itchoo despite inaccessible road from Shargandi (05 km). To conduct the program the officials had to walk a 5 km trek through difficult terrain.
Officials reached Itchoo for a program promoting government-sponsored public-centric schemes. The slippery, ice-blocked road didn’t impede their dedication to community engagement, emphasizing the commitment to reaching remote areas despite adversities.
BDO Barsoo/Day Nodal Officer, Asgar Ali, Sarpanch, PRI members, and officials from different departments, including Heath, Fisheries, Handloom, Animal Husbandry, ICDS, RD&PRD and villagers were present.
During the event, the officers interacted and reached out to the citizens eligible under various welfare schemes, disseminating information and fostering awareness about the government-sponsored public-centric schemes.
Officials from different departments and institutions including Heath, Fisheries, Handloom, Animal Husbandry, ICDS, RD&PRD etc. held interactive sessions with the locals wherein they were informed about the procedures to avail these welfare schemes.
At the health camp, 15 patients attended the OPD, 12 underwent NCD screening, 12 took laboratory tests, and 15 individuals were screened for TB.
Health Department officials highlighted Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’s mission and educated the public on healthcare schemes. The camp saw significant community involvement, fostering awareness and participation.
After completing all the Panchayats in Kargil district, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra program has now reached to inaccessible areas, ensuring comprehensive coverage of government schemes in district.
