UTDRF commences disaster management training in Nyoma


LEH: Union Territory Disaster Response Force (UTDRF), Leh unit conducted a disaster management training programme at Panchayat Halqa Liktsey under Nyoma sub-division Thursday.

SDM Nyoma, BDO Nyoma and the villagers along with PRI members and school students participated in the training.

he training program was aimed to train the local population for any challenging situation in times of disaster and calamity. Also, they were given practical knowledge about various disaster-related equipment in order to effectively meet the emergency situations.

In the training program, the volunteers and other resource persons presented demonstrations related to disasters to the participants to meet any challenging situation in times of disasters.

Moreover, demonstrations were also given for the first aid treatment to injured ones at the time of any untoward incident. Also the participants were given practical training on how to deal with disasters.

The participants were told that climate change is a major concern across the globe which is causing unpredictable disasters for which training on disaster management is necessary.

The trainees were instructed to equip themselves with more knowledge in the field and always keep themselves ready for any kind of disaster.

They were told that the training is not limited to taking the training but also to serve the same for the benefit of society and mankind.
