UT Govt withholds salary of Chief Engineer PHE, l&FC for reported misconduct

Leh: The Union Territory Administration Monday withheld salary of Sumeet Kumar Puri, Chief Engineer of PHE/l&FC Ladakh for unauthorized absence from his duties.

A charge sheet with a statement of accusation was also forwarded by the Ladakh administration to the J&K UT for initiating a disciplinary proceeding against CE Sumeet Kumar Puri.

“A charge sheet with a statement of imputation has been forwarded to Union Territory of J&K for initiating a disciplinary proceeding against Sh. Sumeet Kumar Puri, Chief Engineer of PHE/l&FC Ladakh, for his reported misconduct,” the order read, a copy of which lies with Indus Dispatch.

The order further read that, the proviso to FR-17, states that an officer who is absent from duty without any authority is not entitled to any pay and allowance during the period of such absence.

Therefore, it is hereby ordered that the salary of Sh. Sumeet Kumar Puri shall be withheld until the Government of J&K takes a decision on his un-authorized absence from duties and leaving the Head Quarter, it read further.
