KARGIL: University of Ladakh organized a three-day Vikram Sarabhai Space exhibition here at Kargil Campus. The exhibition which commenced on September 4th will climate on September 6th, 2023. The event aimed to showcase the achievements, innovations, and advancements in space science and technology. The inaugural session, held on the first day, set the stage for an enlightening and educational experience for all attendees. The inaugural session commenced on the morning of September 4th, 2023, and was marked by a warm welcome by Kaneez Fatima, the rector of the Kargil campus of the University of Ladakh. In her welcoming speech, Kaneez Fatima expressed her delight in hosting such a prestigious event in the university and emphasized the significance of space science and technology in today’s world. She highlighted the University’s commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and innovation among its students and the local community. Local schools from the Kargil region actively participated, making this exhibition a significant educational experience for all attendees. One of the keynote speaker, NJ Bhatt (Sr. Scientist) discussed about the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, congratulated all the attendees on hosting the exhibition for the first time in Ladakh. This talk was followed by a speech by another keynote speaker, Brigadier Colonel Ashok, his talk focused on enhancing the scientific temperament of the students present at the exhibition. Addressing the audience, Vice-chancellor, SK Mehta also encouraged the students and expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries of the event. The first day came to an end with the formal vote of thanks by Dr Mohd Saleem. He thanked everyone present at the event in his lofty pronouncements.
