UoL holds seminar on ‘Atma nirbhar Bharat, the rise of new India’

LEH: Department of Commerce and Economics, University of Ladakh successfully completed the two days seminar ‘Atma nirbhar Bharat, the rise of new India’ supported by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).

Atmanirbhar Bharat which translates to ‘self-reliant India’, is a phrase the PM Modi and his government used and popularised in relation to the country’s economic development plans. The phrase is an umbrella concept for the Modi government’s plans for India to play a larger role in the world economy, and for it to become more efficient, competitive and resilient.

ICSSR was established in the year of 1969 by the Government of India to promote research in social sciences in the country. It provides grants for projects, fellowships, international collaboration, capacity building, survey, publications etc. to promote research in social sciences in India.

Documentation center of ICSSR – National Social Science Documentation Centre (NASSDOC)- provides library and information support services to researchers in social sciences.

ICSSR has developed ICSSR Data Service to serve as a national data service for promoting powerful research environment through sharing and reuse of data among social science community in India.
